Starring the award-winning actress, TV star, singer, and dancer Jasmine Guy, a modern day Griot, and the acclaimed Avery Sharpe Trio, Raisin’ Cane celebrates and honors the legendary voices of the Harlem Renaissance through text, song, music, movement and imagery. The show premiered at the Apollo Theater in 2007.

Miss Miami Pageant Carnival 2015

The 33rd Annual Miss Carnaval Miami pageant will take place February 7th from 7 – 9 p.m. and is a platform for contestants to reach their goals through their personal commitment to become leaders in their community. Participants will showcase their confidence, talent and beauty for a chance to gain invaluable life experience through community service, cultural events and networking opportunities. The Kiwanis of Little Havana is now accepting applications for contestants to compete for the coveted title of 33rd Annual Miss Carnaval Miami 2015, presented by Coca-Cola Zero. Young women between the ages 16-25 are invited to register for the celebrated pageant, with the winner becoming an ambassador of Carnaval Miami 2015, receiving $2,500 in college scholarship funds, an automatic entry to the Miss Florida USA pageant and other prizes.

The Doo Wop Project

The Doo Wop Project begins at the beginning, tracing the evolution of Doo Wop from the classic sound of five guys singing tight harmonies on a street corner to the biggest hits on the radio today. Throughout the show DWP takes audiences on a journey from foundational tunes of groups like the Crests, Belmonts and Flamingos through their influences on the sounds of Smokey Robinson, the Temptations, and the Four Seasons all the way to Michael Jackson, Jason Mraz and Amy Winehouse.

Dolphins Cycling Challenge

The Dolphins Cycling Challenge (DCC) is a two-day tri-county charity cycling event. The DCC is dedicated to raising funds for lifesaving cancer research at the Sylvester Comprehensive Cancer Center. Rides begin in Miami-Dade at Sun Life Stadium, in Boca Raton at Mizner Park Ampitheater, in Palm Beach at CityPlace and at Dolphins Training Camp throughout the weekend. Along each route, water stops will be located approximately every 15-20 miles, with food, beverages, entertainment, restroom facilities, medical treatment and mechanical assistance available for riders.
